LANTA Bus Service at Lehigh Valley Mall in Jeopardy

This week’s news suggested that LANTA Bus service to the Lehigh Valley Mall may be stopped in June 2025 due to the mall owner’s decision.

LANTA Bus service to the Lehigh Valley Mall and the Whitehall/Route 145 shopping district is important for a number of groups:

  • LANTA bus service is important for seniors who go shopping and don’t drive a car.
  • LANTA bus is important for workers for are employed at the many retail businesses in this area.
  • LANTA bus is important for others who don’t have a car or have interest to ride the bus to reduce traffic congestion.

LANTA bus service to the Whitehall area is critical at the juncture of five LANTA bus routes, notably both of LANTA’s 103, 201, 211, 603, 611, and GREEN EBS line. EBS (Enhanced Bus Service) lines are LANTA’s newest routes that combine higher frequency service with shorter travel times between important destinations. EBS GREEN line runs from Whitehall to Bethlehem’s Wind Creek. EBS BLUE line runs from Trexlertown to Easton via Allentown and Bethlehem.

CAT is urging people to do three things to support LANTA Bus service in Whitehall Township:

  1. Complete LANTA’s Whitehall-area rider survey
  2. Ride LANTA to Whitehall and see how it all works with stops and destinations. Try Google Maps transit directions here or download the Transit app on your smartphone.
  3. Contact CAT if you would like to join our Transit Committee.
