TWO IN ONE RIDE
Hi everybody – This Sunday, August 28, we’ll be doing a two-in-one ride. That doesn’t mean that the intrepid Yani will be eating two pastries in one ride, but rather that we’ll be doing BOTH a road ride AND a trail ride with a bakery stop. Feel free to join in either or both. First, we’ll do a road ride of about 15 miles or so, over gently rolling hills; then we’ll do a few miles on the southside Greenway (mostly flat, nicely paved trail) with a stop at a bakery that’s been given a thumbs up by our secret tester.
Both rides will start and end at New and Third Streets, the southeast corner, in south Bethlehem.
For the road ride, we’ll meet at 9:30 a.m.; come early if you need air in your tires. If you’re afraid of road rides, this is a great opportunity to feel safer, as we’ll be riding in a group, highly visible, at a time of day where traffic volume is low, mostly on quiet neighborhood roads.
For the bakery ride, we’ll meet at 11 a.m.. This is a super ride for beginners, as it will be short and mostly flat. And there’s a bakery involved — what more could you want from a ride?
Both rides are appropriate for cyclists of all ages. As always, we’ll do our best to go at a pace that is comfortable for most, and possible for all. Bring a helmet, and some water. Hope to see you there!
(This ride is funded in part by a grant from Lehigh Valley Greenways.)
