NEXT RIDE: SATURDAY, October 16, 2021 – 9 A.M., meet at CAT OFFICE, 1935 W. Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA (Rain date, Sunday, October 17; same time and place)
WHO?
You, if you are an adult (over the age of 18) or a child over the age of 10 accompanied by an adult. You don’t HAVE to be a CAT member, but if you aren’t already, we hope you’ll want to be by the end of the ride.
WHAT?
Weekend morning BAKERY RIDE – We’ll go Saturday or Sunday, depending on the weather. This ride, led by CAT instructors, is short and sweet, and aims to make all participants comfortable cruising the local roads, especially if you are a beginner or timid or fearful of riding in or near car traffic. Riding in a group increases your visibility and safety, and is an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours! We’ll take quiet streets to great neighborhood bakeries a hop, skip and jump away from CAT’s office in west Bethlehem. We’ll keep rides relatively short – less than 3 miles each way. This is a perfect ride if you are just getting started! Show up with your bike and a helmet and you’ll be good to go.
WHERE?
Starting and ending at CAT (Coalition for Appropriate Transportation), 1935 W. Broad Street, Bethlehem.
WHEN?
Check the CAT Events Calendar – Rides will be either Saturday or Sunday morning, at 9 a.m. — if you need any equipment support, such as helmet adjustment or air in your tires or lube on your chain, come a few minutes early. We’ll be there with doors open by 8:45 a.m.. If you need more substantial equipment support, contact CAT about getting an appointment at the bike co-op.
NOTE: If the weather is bad that day, we’ll reschedule for the following week.
WHY?
Pastries. Maybe coffee. Good companionship. And certainly fun!
To put it another way, WHY NOT??
