BAKERY RIDE Saturday August 6, 2022, 8 a.m.
MEET 8 a.m. at CAT office (1935 W. Broad Street in Bethlehem) Saturday, August 6
Hi everybody – Let’s do a ride Saturday morning, before the threatened rain and heat descend! We’ll start at the CAT office and head on pleasantly quiet roads that run up the river to our favorite coffee shop in Catasaqua — not exactly a bakery, but they offer plenty of baked goods. Once there, we will decide whether we come home via the longer path route, or simply retrace our steps south along the river. Like most roads running adjacent to the river, our route is mostly flat, with a few gentle rolls thrown in to keep us on our toes. (It IS Pennsylvania, after all…) Total mileage is about 14-20 miles, depending on which tiny streets we take, and whether we return via the Nor-Bath trail or the roads. Either way, this is a lovely ride.
As always, for any of you less than confident about riding the roads, this ride is a great opportunity to build your confidence on the streets, as we’ll be riding in a group and will be very noticeable, and our route is along mostly lightly traveled streets.
We will be at the CAT office by 7:30 a.m. for any of you who need air in your tires, lube on your chain, a quick seat adjustment, or any other quickie maintenance task. (If you need more than that, contact CAT to set up an appointment during normal bike co-op hours on T, Th or Sat.) Bring a helmet and some water. Hope to see you on Saturday morning!
