ICE CREAM FOR DINNER FAMILY BIKE RIDE
Let’s face it, getting that evening meal on the table every day can be a real drag, especially for those of you with children. So cut yourself a break and take the family out for ICE CREAM FOR DINNER!
Please join us Saturday, June 1, at 4 p.m. for our first FAMILY BIKE RIDE of this season. Everyone is welcome, young to old and everything in between. We’ll start and end near the bandshell at the Bethlehem Rose Garden, at 8th Avenue and Broad Street in Bethlehem, and ride to downtown for ICE CREAM FOR DINNER. Total round trip distance is a little over 3 miles, a manageable distance for even young riders. We’ll stick to back streets as far as possible, and take a slow pace; and, as we’ll ride in a group, we will be very visible. We will do our best to return to the Rose Garden in time for the 5:30 p.m. start of the evening concert. (Whether we return on time, of course, will depend entirely on how much ice cream you and yours eat!)
And if ice cream isn’t your thing, you have options — there is a candy store right next to our ice cream destination. 😉
As this is a CAT (Coalition for Appropriate Transportation) ride, all riders are required to wear helmets and follow the rules of the road, such as stopping for traffic lights, riding on the right side of the road, staying out of the “door zone,” etc. If you are uncertain about the rules of the road for cyclists, don’t worry – CAT’s experienced ride leaders will show the way.
To recap: Saturday, 4 p.m., Bethlehem Rose Garden bandshell, at 8th Ave and Broad Street, ice cream, FUN…
Please join us, and tell your friends to come along, too!
