Hi Over The Hill Riders,
Our next ride will be this Monday, November 4, at high noon. We’ll start and end in front of the bandshell at the Bethlehem Rose Garden Park, in between W. Raspberry Street and Union Boulevard, at 8th Ave. Here is the location. Though our ride will begin at noon, we’ll be there 15 minutes early, in case anyone needs to pump up their tires or adjust their seats.
Our ride will take us through the quiet back streets of Bethlehem and east Allentown, and then up the river to one of our favorite coffee shops in Catasaqua. There we’ll take some refreshment, and then head back a slightly different route. The total mileage is about 13 miles; the roads are as flat as we can get ’em here in Pennsylvania. We designed this route to have the biggest hills all go downhill. (Don’t spend too much time thinking of that one…;)). For the details, check out our route here. We estimate our total ride time at 3 hours.
Most any type of bike is appropriate for this ride. As with most CAT rides, our pace will largely be set by the group. No one will get dropped. If you’re looking for a social ride, with a chance to appreciate our beautiful surroundings while engaging in pleasant conversation, this is it! And as added bonused, you get to be away from all the news of the next day’s election while enjoying the last of the Fall’s color.
We hope to see you Monday at noon, and bring some friends along while you’re at it! Although our Over the Hill Rides are targeted to retirees, anyone who is free during the work day is welcome.
Your CAT Ride Leaders, Anne and Tim
