We’re happy to share a little more Lehigh Valley cheer – in December 2024, 150 young people received newly refurbished bikes from CAT. Parents picked out bikes for their children ages 3-14 to present for the winter holidays. Each bike included a new helmet, sized for the rider – along with tips for biking smart at any age (ABC Quick Check, parking/locking your bike, basic bike handling tips, and basic traffic safety). As a follow-up every family receiving a bike is invited to CAT’s spring bike education events at local schools and parks.

An amazing bonus effect of the holiday bike building process is that for two months, so many amazing volunteers came together 4 days a week for a total of over 600 volunteer-hours. If you ever wondered what Santa does in January, they probably take a week to enjoy with their family, and then it’s a few weeks of reorganizing the workshop. That’s the CAT Bicycle Cooperative at the moment. Come by to volunteer, say hello, or support in any way you can!
