Youth Bicycling Education in the Lehigh Valley
CAT’s program, Bike Smart Lehigh Valley, aims to educate children in grades K-8, about how to be smart when riding their bicycles.
Funded by PennDOT and the Lehigh Valley Transportation Study, Bike Smart Lehigh Valley utilizes professional bicycle instructors to educate and motivate children to treat bicycle riding with respect, as bicycles on public streets are treated as vehicles.
It’s also a goal of this program to inspire children to ride their bikes to be physically active and to lead healthy lives that can connect the Lehigh Valley by pedal power.
