Our Classes
Basic Bike Maintenance Class
This 4-hour class is an excellent overview of bicycle maintenance for everyone. Learn about tires, tubes, brakes, and even how to adjust derailleurs! You’ll go home with a clean and tuned bike.
Advanced Bike Mechanics Class
This 16-hour class offers a deeper level of mechanical practice. It is for the advanced home mechanic or someone looking to build a career with bicycles.
Wheel Building Class
This 8-hour class offers the full experience of wheel building science and technique. Students will learn about different types of rims, spokes, lacing patterns, calculating spoke lengths, spoke tension, wheel dishing, tools and spoke thread preparation. Over the course of the day, every student will build a wheel from start to finish.
Learn to Fix a Flat Tire Class
This one-hour hands-on class offers instruction and practice on tire-changing for anyone! Beyond the theory and concepts, we want you to be comfortable changing a flat tire in your garage, in your living room, and on the side of the road or trail.
Taking Care of Your E-Bike Class
This two-hour class offers a care & maintenance overview for new e-bike owners. Including: preparing your bike/safety check before a ride, identifying mechanical issues (tire, brakes, drivetrain), and overview of electrical systems and battery care.
Trailside Bike Repair Class
This two-hour class offers riders a chance to learn how to fix their bikes with basic tools and trailside mechanical triage techniques. Includes: Tools to carry, repairs for common and obscure problems (brakes not working, shifting not working, broken spoke, loose saddle, bent derailleur hanger).
Learn to Ride-Adult
This 60 minute session gives adults (of any age) a chance to learn to ride if they have never ridden a bike before. For adults who haven’t ridden in a long time, this session can build their confidence. The class will offer instruction and practice with basic bike handling skills such as starting/stopping and bike control in an open area without traffic (not a street or narrow trail).
Learn to Ride for Youth
This 60 minute session teaches youth (younger than age 14) a chance to learn to ride if they have never ridden a bike before. The class will offer instruction and practice with basic bike handling skills such as starting/stopping and bike control in an open area without traffic (not a street or narrow trail).
Smart Cycling Class
This full-day class will provide adult students with a supportive environment to experience perspective as bicycle riders on the streets. Students will practice basic skills and build confidence through discussion course materials provided by League of American Bicyclists.
CyclingSavvy Class
CyclingSavvy is a comprehensive bicycling traffic safety course for adults and teenagers. It offers bicyclists of any level, the tools to build confidence and foster cooperation with other drivers on the road.
What takes CyclingSavvy a step further is a communication skill set that prevents motorist frustration and creates positive interactions for bicycle riders.
This is a program of the American Bicycling Education Association, taught by certified CyclingSavvy Instructors (CSI)
