Donate a Used Bicycle
(and parts & other equipment)
Bike donations are accepted during CAT Bicycle Cooperative hours listed on the CAT Calendar.
Please call CAT to schedule a time before you bring a donation.
We accept bike donations to support our mission in a number of ways:
-
-
- Community members with financial hardship receive access to quality & safe, refurbished bikes. On average, a donated bike gets 4-6 hours of love and (as-needed) new tires, brakes pads, chains, and cables. Those receiving bikes may make a suggested donation, or volunteer their time in exchange for a bicycle. Our goal is to provide healthy and enjoyable transportation, and wisdom for the bicycle driver. Your donation makes these options available to everyone!
- Mechanics-in-training learn how to repair and rebuild bicycles with guidance and supervision of an experienced mechanic.
- As a fundraiser for CAT’s general operation. Refurbished bikes made available by suggested donation to the community greatly support operating costs for the CAT Bicycle Cooperative, CAT’s regional advocacy work to boost bicycling, pedestrian experience, public transit (LANta bus), Adopt-a-Bus Stop program, our local trail network, and education not covered by other funding sources.
